The Empire unveils everything but sees nothing. Its enemies idealize
everything but tolerate nothing. For some the earthly orgasm is of
virtual whores. For others the eternal orgasm is of 70 heavenly virgins.
What if it all came down to flesh?
Edouard Salier finished from Graphic Art and Design studies
in Paris and started working with the composer and music producer
Doctor L, designing his record sleeves and directing his first music
video, "Mountains". He has created a wide range of graphic
works, including short films, promos and installations. He is now
preparing his first feature film. His film "Empire" is also
in the programme of Political Animation in this year's "Animated
Dreams".

"Guide Dog" is a sequel to the Oscar nominated short "Guard
Dog". This time our hero dog helps blind people with typical
disastrous results.
Bill Plympton (b 1946 in Portland, USA) is one of the best-known
American indie-animators, who has turned down a 7-figure offer from
The Walt Disney Company. In 2005, his "Guard Dog" was nominated
for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film. Several his short
and feature length animation films have been screened since 1999 at
"Animated Dreams" and in 2001 he was the member of festival's
jury.

hero to a nightflight. Is it a lost love? Or just a dream? After Ivan
Turgenev's novel "Ghost Story".
Vuk Jevremovic (b 1959 in Frankfurt on Main, Germany) 1984
graduated from Architecture at the Technical University in Belgrade,
ex Yugoslavia, and 2002 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, Germany
- as Masterstudent by Professor Joseph Kosuth. In 2004 he was the
member of jury at "Animated Dreams" and presented a retrospective
of his films.

"Zlydni" is a Ukrainian fairy tale. One day zlydni - evil
forces that bring misery - come to settle at Petro's house. His envious
neighbours are happy as Petro's household falls apart. However, eventually
Petro gets rid of zlydni, which makes his neighbours lose peace. They
find zlydni and decide to bring them back to Petro but, instead of
returning, zlydni settle in at the home of their new masters...
Stepan Koval (b 1965 in Novomoskovsk, Ukraine) finished the
Academy of Arts in Kiev (arhitecture) in 1993. In 1998 finished the
Theatrical Institute in Kiev (director of animation films). With his
film "Tram no 9 Goes" he received the award of Best Young
Director at the animation festival "Animated Dreams" in
2002.

A man is fishing on the river. A red lady's shoe comes floating by.
Did it belong to the county commissioner? She, who inaugurated ElektronikBertils's
new factory for mobile defibrillators... where the mayor as usual
had to do the dirty work.... and where the party afterwards got out
of hand...?
Magnus Fredriksson (b 1977 in Kiruna, Sweden) In November 1977,
an ugly and wrinkled boy fills his lungs with air for the first time.
He cries and the sound-waves travel over the snow-covered landscape
outside the maternity hospital of Kiruna in northern Sweden. A quarter
of a century later, the boy sits quiet and red-eyed, staring in front
of his computer with a meatball sandwich in his left hand and a dirty,
grey Microsoft mouse under the right one. From the loudspeakers of
the stereo music is streaming, on the TV the night news flicker. After
years of arduous searching he has gained insight. He has a plan, or
more correctly, he has a goal... he's going to be an animator.

Simone Massi (b 1970 in Pergola, Italy) graduated with distinction
in animation from the Urbin School of Fine Arts. He has been an independent
director since 1996 and has worked at many studios gaining experience
co-directing CD-ROMs, videos, and TV series. He has made 15 short
animated films.

Love game of a couple is rudely interrupted by war, but lovers don't
want to stop the game.
Milos Tomic (b 1976 in Belgrade, Serbia) received a bachelor
degree from Film Directing Department of BK Academy, Belgrade, where
he finished the course of prof. Misha Radivojevic. At the moment attending
magister studies at FAMU, Prague, in multimedia animation. Passionate
collector and patient collager, not clean filmmaker.

Ivan Maximov (b 1958 in Moscow, Russia) 1976-1982 was a student
of Physical-Technical Institute, since 1981 has been an illustrator
for various magazines. 1982-1986 was an engineer in Space Research
Institute, next two years took advanced courses on filmdirecting and
scriptwriting. Since 1995 has been working as "Virtual studio
Ivan Maximov" at home as a film, video & computer animator.
Since 2002 is a teacher of filmdirecting.

An elderly woman recalls bygone memories: as a child she had three
imaginary pets that she held with strings. She carried them with her
all day and night, until one day she lost them. She looked for them
everywhere to then find them unexpectedly.
Kim Noce (b 1973) graduated in Fine Arts and then with an MA
in the Animation Director Course at the National Film and Television
School in England. Currently she is represented in the USA by Propeller
Productions.

daughter of Herodias, urges for the prophet Iokanaan's head after
he spurned her love. Breathtaking beauty combined with infatuating
melody in the middle of a crisp arcade game world.
Christian Zagler (b 1980 in Graz, Austria) he founded the "Von
Hinten Society for Critical Perception" magazine. 2004 got Master's
Degree in Information Design at the University of Applied Sciences
Graz, since 2005 works for Amour Fou Film Production Vienna and at
a movie theatre.

differences.
Andrei Tsvetkov (b 1954) has been working at animation studios
in Sofia, Bulgaria, since 1978 as an art director and animator. He
has been involved in the production of over 20 films.

This film is about who I am and what I want. It's NOT about who YOU
are and what YOU want. You always think everything I make is about
you but it's not. It's all about me
Chris Shepherd (b in Liverpool) His work has been nominated
twice for the film BAFTA. His credits include adverts, title sequences
and sketches. He is co-founder of the production company Slinky Pictures
with producer Maria Manton. In 2003 his animation film "Dad's
Dead" screened in the competition programme of "Animated
Dreams" .
David Shrigley graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1991.
His art and sculptures have been exhibited throughout the world in
24 solo shows, and he has had more than 20 books published of his
drawings.
