Bjorn Hlynur Haraldsson, born in Reykjavik, Iceland, received his formal education at the Drama Department of the Icelandic Arts Academy. Since then, he has ably proven his abilities, both on stage and on the screen. In 2001, he co-founded Vesturport, Iceland’s most innovative company of theatre artists, and played in the productions of "Blood Wedding", "Romeo and Juliet", which won two Icelandic Theatre Awards, and "Surf", which was honoured as Best New Drama. The Reykjavik based ensemble, a member of the Icelandic Theatre Network, has received excellent audience support and undisputed critical acclaim since its inception. On the screen, Bjorn first made a name for himself with the film REYKJAVIK GUESTHOUSE : RENT A BIKE, followed by COLD LIGHT, the Icelandic entry for the Academy Awards for Best Foreign Film in 2005. ELEVEN MEN OUT, in which he plays the lead role, has been a great success, both at home and abroad.
